Review:
I was first introduced to Billy Madison back in 96. It was quite possibly the dumbest movie I have watched in a long time. However, it's comical stupidity is what makes the movie so incredibly good.
Billy (Adam Sandler) is the world's biggest loser living in his father's millions (just imagine Adam Sandler acting stupid and having enough money to do anything). Then one day his father decides to give Eric (Bradley Whitford) his multi-million dollar hotel franchise, instead of Billy.
Billy begins to question his father's ability in him. This is when Billy finds out that his father paid off all of his teachers throughout his education.
To keep his father proud of him, Billy decides to repeat each grade. Starting from grade school Billy has to complete and pass each grade in two weeks and graduate in order to inherit the company, instead of Eric. This is were the antics of the movie begin.
There are several "memorable" scenes in this movie that you just can't ever forget. It's also, defiantly one of those movies that you memorize every single line of the movie and annoy the person you are watching it with by repeating the lines before they are said.
One of my favorite parts is when they go see old man Climens. He eventually gets mad at Billy and his friends for pulling a practical joke on his door step. And who can forget Billy's friends Frank (Norm MacDonald) and Jack (Mark Beltzman) who basically live at Billy's mansion.
The dvd has quite a bit of information on it. It is presented in anamorphic widescreen and contains production notes, cast and filmmakers' bois, film highlights, theatrical trailer, and web links. The thing I like to see in most dvd's is the utilization of using a DVD-Rom drive. In the Bonus screen there is a selection for web links. If you are a lucky owner of a DVD-Rom drive you can follow the link to Universal Studios Home Video. The site is quite impressive with a ton of links and things about their movies coming out or that are already out.
If you are in a playful or silly mood then this is the movie to watch. Even when I am feeling down and out I put this movie in and it always lightens my day right up, because Adam Sandler does and excellent job of acting stupid. For those of you that have yet to see it I highly recommend either renting it and if you are a fan of Adam Sandler it is a must have for your collection.
